Pisarenko’s adventures

Ivan Pisarenko is a young lawyer who, once graduated in Argentina in 2005, decided to try the adventure of the trans-americas, from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego. The Americas are less dangerous that Africa and the borders are less difficult to cross than Asia, and the travel should have last 9 months.
Meanwhile a lot of things happened and, after 5 years, Ivan is still hitting the roads.

In Mexico he bumped into robbers but he had no money, once told the story and where he was coming from, they let him go but not without buying him a drink.
In Colombia he stumbled upon local police searching for marxists and drug dealers, he convinced police just because of the hundred of stickers that apparenlty were holding the bike together. Police was sure that no one would use such kind of multi-color bike for drugs dealing.
In Equador he drove into a SUV, he spent 6 month recovering from a broken hips and several months trying to fix the bike.
When he came back to Argentina, the custom police inpounded his motorcycle, apparently there’s a law the forbid to spend more than 180 days abroad for an Argentinian bike. Thanks to the press and the followers of his website, the motorcycle was returned to Ivan.

Likey Ivan has not the organization behind Long Way Down and is not travelling for “charity” but his determination is really admirable.
